Volatiles

Volatiles are laminated glass tiles containing images created with holospectral medium. The holospectral technique - developed by Adriano - was granted a patent in 1998.

VolaTiles have a fluid appearance that changes according to the play of light. The beauty of the tiles is that when light shines on them, the holospectral medium reflects the colours of the spectrum, which change from different viewpoints. What looks vivid from one aspect can be beautifully subdued from another.

There are two types of Volatiles available:

- Glass tiles with black (or other colour if desired) background encapsulating 23k gold, silver, brass and oxidised metals, as well as holographic medium

- Glass tiles made entirely of holospectral medium, which result in animation effects as the viewer moves around the room.
